We make one size of Coffee Cake – a 9″ round cake! A serving is 1/8 of the cake, so 1 cake has 8 servings!
How do I store my Coffee Cake before eating? Should I refrigerate it? Can it be frozen?
To store your cake, you may leave it on the counter topf (5 to 7 days) or freeze it (guaranteed for 90 days, but cakes can be frozen up to a year or longer)! Please do NOT refrigerate your Dave’s Coffee Cake! Our cakes freeze VERY well! We guarantee up to 90 days in the freezer, but you can freeze them much longer! If you aren’t going to use the cake within the next 3 to 5 days (after purchase), we recommend freezing it! This allows the cake to have an extended shelf-life after thawing! To thaw, just remove the cake from the freezer and let it sit on your counter overnight! Our cake will taste just as fresh once it has been thawed as it did when you bought it!
What is the Shelf-Life of a Dave’s Coffee Cake? How long will it be good for?
Dave’s Coffee Cakes are good for 5 to 7 days on the counter or for 90 days (or more) in the freezer! Please do NOT refrigerate your Coffee Cake!
I purchased a Dave’s Coffee cake with Cream Cheese in it. Should I refrigerate it? Does it need to be kept cool?
The cream cheese in any Dave’s Coffee Cake is baked with the cake. This eliminates the need to refrigerate the cream cheese or to keep it cool. Your Cream Cheese Coffee Cake is safe to keep at room temperature. Please DO NOT refrigerate.
Which cakes have cream cheese?
All cakes that have cream cheese will say “Cream Cheese” in the name, as well as our Apple Cinnamon Supreme and Cinnamon Supreme Coffee Cakes.
Does my Dave’s Coffee Cake need to be Baked / Cooked?
All of our products are baked in our family owned and operated bakery in Rock Falls, IL, and are sold as ready-to-eat products! Since our cakes are baked by our gifted bakers, you don’t need to bake or cook the cake at all. If you would like to warm the cake, that is your choice! We recommend microwaving your Coffee Cake for a few seconds, if desired.
I have an allergy to nuts. Should I eat a Dave’s Coffee Cake?
Dave’s Coffee Cake does NOT recommend anyone with nut allergies to eat our products! Some of our cakes contain tree nuts or peanuts, and we cannot guarantee that any of our cakes are nut-free! (We use Coconut, Peanut Butter Chips, Almonds, Pecans, and Walnuts in our facility.) While not all of our cakes have nuts, we do NOT recommend serving to anyone with nut allergies! All of our products are baked in the same facility, where we use Tree Nuts and Peanuts!
If you have a dislike of nuts but are not allergic, please try any of our cakes that do not have nuts listed in the name / flavor!
Is the fruit all through the cake? Nuts? Chips?
The fruit is only a topping and is not throughout the inside of the cake. Chips and Nuts are used as toppings.

Can I include a greeting, message or note?
On the item page (where you only see the cake and the “Add to Bag” button), you will see “Gift Tag” followed by “No” or “Yes (+$1.00)”. To include a personalized message, please click the bubble by “Yes (+$1.00)”. Below that, you will see “Gift Message”. This is where you can enter your message! There is no limit to how long or short your message may be, but we highly encourage sending a Gift Message with an Order that you are sending as a gift! (We do NOT include any packing slip or invoice with the order! Without sending a Gift Message, there will be nothing included to indicate who the cake(s) were sent from!) All Gift Messages will then be Hand-Written by our Staff in special cards! Cards will then be placed inside envelopes and addressed “To: NAME” & “From: NAME”. Our Staff will tape the envelope to the lid of the cake (on the outside), so that the card is delivered safely with the cake! (We tape it to the container so that the card is delivered with the cake, and so that it is not left in the box at delivery!)

Dave’s Coffee Cake accepts ALL US-issued Credit Cards (and most internationally-issued Credit Cards)! We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, JCB, and UnionPay Cards! Online Orders are currently ONLY processed with a Credit / Debit Card, so please have a card ready for Checkout! At events or for pick-up orders, Dave’s Coffee Cake will accept Credit / Debit Cards, Cash, or Check (phone number must be on the check)!
How far in advance should I place an order for holidays or special occasions?
We always recommend ordering well in advance! We recommend placing your order at least a week (7 days) before your desired delivery date! During our busy time of year around the holiday season (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah), please allow extra delivery time! (At that time of year, we recommend placing your order at least 10 days before your desired delivery date! While we ship USPS Priority Mail, the delivery dates given are only estimates – not guaranteed! The Ordering Process typically takes about 5 Business Days. This means, the order is typically delivered about 5 Business Days from the date that the order is placed! (Business Days are Monday – Friday, not including any Federal or Major US Holidays! Can you tell me a little about your current shipping structure?
Yes, we ship online orders to all US states except Alaska and Hawaii via USPS Priority Mail. Your order will normally arrive within 1-3 business days after the shipment date. Sorry, we do not ship to other destinations. However, you may call us to inquire about shipping to destinations outside the contiguous 48 states. We cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate all call-in shipment requests.

How will my cake be shipped?
All Dave’s Coffee Cakes are shipped via United States Postal Service Priority Mail with 1-3 business day shipping. We can not guarantee deliveries or delivery dates.
Can I upgrade my shipping options?
No, USPS Priority Mail (1-3 business days) is our standard shipping option. Overnight options can still take 2 days and would cost $20 per cake, so USPS Priority Mail is a quick and reasonably priced option!
I ordered multiple cakes, but only received 2. Where are the rest of my cakes?
Our shipping boxes can hold a maximum of 2 cakes per box. If your order contains more than 2 cakes, you will receive multiple boxes! Each box does have its own tracking number, however, our software only allows us to input 1 tracking number. Tracking numbers not listed on your order are available upon request!
Can I use a P.O. Box for deliveries?
Yes, your postal office box can be used for delivery. Cakes being sent to P. O. boxes will be sent using USPS. We do not insure these packages or guarantee delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
No, we do not ship internationally at this time, due to time restrictions and to ensure quality.
Are invoices packed with the cakes? This is a gift.
No invoices or other information is included in packages unless specifically requested. If you would like to have a message for the recipient, please add a gift tag! Before adding the cake to your cart, please mark “Yes” in the Gift Tag category and enter a gift message. The recipient will not receive any pricing or billing information.
How can I guarantee delivery on a specific date?
Dave’s Coffee Cake cannot guarantee delivery dates. Only shipping dates can be guaranteed and estimated delivery dates can be provided. We always advise to place the order well in advance to avoid issues.

How do we keep track of online and student/sales reps orders?
We keep track of all of that information for you! Once the fundraiser ends, we will tally all of the different totals and provide you with all the necessary information!
How much is shipping if I order from the online store?
The cost of shipping depends on where the order is getting shipped to! These rates are calculated by USPS. Please note that our free and flat rate shipping does not apply to our online fundraiser orders due to the discounted price of fundraiser cakes.
I ordered my cakes from the online store, when will they be shipped?
Cakes are baked and shipped as quickly as possible! Since we bake all cakes fresh to order, we ask for up to 2 business days before shipping! As soon as the order is ready, we ship via USPS Priority Mail, with expected delivery in 1-3 business days! You should expect your order about 5 business days from the order date!

Are the same flavors available at all events?
Typically, we send the same flavors to each show. An exception would be that some flavors are only sold at specific events. We always encourage you to arrive early to find the largest selections and your favorites!
Why are there samples at some shows but not others?
We always try to give out samples at all of our events. However, each event’s Health Department has different restrictions which could hinder us from giving samples at some shows.

How are the cakes maintained at the show?
We care about the freshness of our cakes. At events, we rotate our cakes periodically by replacing old cakes with new cakes to ensure customers aren’t buying any cake that isn’t still fresh.

What is cake of the month membership?
Our Cake of the Month Membership allows customers to purchase a year’s worth of our coffee cakes in advance and receive one each month! Customers can save up to 15% by using our membership!
Can I choose my flavors?
Yes! We recently updated our membership so that the customer can choose all 12 flavors for our Cake of the Month Membership!
When do I receive my cakes?
Typically, your cakes will be shipped between the 5th and the 8th of each month.
We do NOT wholesale. Dave’s Coffee Cake is a family run and operated business, and we are NOT licensed for resale. All cakes must be purchased directly from our staff, at events, online, or through fundraisers (with flyer sales)! Cakes cannot be resold as whole cakes or as slices.
